Patricia C. Garrett, 79, of Monroe, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born in West Middletown on February 27, 1933 to parents Vergil and Anne (Jones) Hawkins.

Patricia retired as the petite department manager at Elder-Beerman after 22 years. She had previously been a dental assistant for Dr. John Harkrader for 15 years. She was an active member of the Monroe United Methodist Church where she was in United Methodist Women, the Good Fellowship Group and had gone through the Emmaus Walk.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her daughters, Dona (James) Gardner Klein & Tonia (Steve) McDonough; sisters, Helen Akers, Martha Pierson, Gladys (Henry) Schraub & Becky Sheley; sister-in-law, Margaret Hawkins; grandchildren, Carolyn (Nathan) Gardner Firth, Christopher (Julia) Gardner & Lyndi (Jeremy) McDonough Uitto; great grandchildren, Kennedy Firth & Isaac Garrett Firth; and numerous nieces, nephews & close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Garrett in 2008; parents; and siblings, Virginia Gullo, Vergil Hawkins Jr. & Mary Hollenbaugh.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Monroe United Methodist Church, 206 East Ave., Monroe with Reverend Dr. Timothy J. Waugh, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown and Thursday morning at church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
