Patricia Urban

Patricia Urban, 84, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2022, surrounded by her daughters. She was born February 6, 1937, in Columbus, OH, to parents Gail and Genevieve (Landis) Graham.

She graduated from North High School in Columbus in 1955 and furthered her education at the Ohio State University with a degree in elementary education. She married her husband Ron in 1959 and continued teaching until starting a family in 1963. She loved children and especially enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.

Patricia also spent a number of years in volunteer pursuits within the Middletown, Ohio community where she and her husband moved their family in 1968. She was a member, elder and Sunday school teacher at the First Presbyterian Church. She also found time for the the Middletown Tennis Club, serving as a “tennis mom” and board member, that helped to re-energize the junior development program. Often her station wagon was full of kids traveling to tennis tournaments and lessons. She will be remembered fondly by the tennis community as a caring, helpful and fun mom to everyone.

She continued these and other volunteer pursuits until officially returning to work in the 1980’s with her husband in his optometric practice. Long term patients enjoyed coming to see “Pat” and Dr. Urban. She was known to be a great listener and for going the extra mile. Her patients received not only attentive care but also gained a friend.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Urban, Joni Urban & Jill Stefanoni; her granddaughters, Olivia Stefanoni & Ava Stefanoni; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Louis Ron Urban; her sister, Genevieve Kazee; her brother, Gail Graham; and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday June 9, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church At 1:30 pm. Inurnment of ashes will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00 am at Union Cemetery in Columbus, OH
