Paul Demostenes, 87, of Middletown, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at his home. He was born in Middletown on December 18, 1930 to parents Strats and Andegone (Nosokomopulis) Demostenes.
Paul had worked as a test board operator for Ohio Bell, retiring in 1985 after 30 years. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 218, V.F.W #3809 and DAV #131. Paul enjoyed bowling and was a member of the American Bowling Association, as well as being a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #501 and Eagles Aerie #528. He was an avid John Wayne fan, a coin collector, and loved old movies.
Mr. Demostenes is survived by his children, Diana (Roger) Ballard, Debbie (Mike) Willman-Harter, Jim Demostenes, Donnie (Marcy) Melton, Debbie (Bob) Arthur, Kelly (Tony) Turner & Todd (Rhonda) Melton; sister, Bake Koutsikides; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Demostenes; former wife, Shirley Demostenes; son, Charles "Chuck" Demostenes; parents; and sister, Katherine Tsakeris.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
