Paul E Carter, 74, of Middletown, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky on February 3, 1935 to parents Henry and Christine (Helton) Carter.
Paul worked as a fireman at Smurfit Stone Container for 38 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy (Manns) Carter; three children, William Carter, Linda (Gary) Scearce and James (Yvonne) Eldridge; sisters, Rose Post, Beverly (Dan) Post and Vicki (Jerry) Cox; five grandchildren, Kendra Childers, Amanda Carter, Jenny Carter, Joshua Eldridge and Tiffany Eldridge; nine great grandchildren; and many other loving family & special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Sudie Carter.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Jack Woodward and Brother Jason Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Franklin VFW Honor Guard.
