Paul Edward "Ed" Beier

Paul Edward "Ed" Beier, age 65, passed away January 3, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Middletown, on July 19, 1947 to parents Paul and Lucile (Murphy) Beier, and was a lifelong Middletown resident. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Fenwick High School in 1965. Ed attained the rank of Eagle Scout under the leadership of his father, who was Scout Master. He was a graduate of Bowling Green University in 1969. He was a thirty year employee of AK Steel, retiring in 2008. After retirement he worked as a greeter at Walmart Middletown. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Ginger (Cooper) Beier; his two children, Heather K. Ross (Adam) and Ryan E. Beier (Miki); five grandchildren; Kyle, Lulu & Samantha Beier and Sam & Jake Ross; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Charles Day; step-brother, Dave Rekers (Sue); a sister-in-law, Ottie Kay Stankus; several nieces and nephews and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was procceded in death by his parents; in-laws William O. Cooper and Sidell E. Cooper; and a brother-in-law Charles Stankus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Chapel with Father Thomas H. McCarthy as celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery.
