Paul Finney, 85, of Middletown, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. Paul was born on August 14, 1918 in Middletown to Vernon and Della (Barker) Finney.
He was a graduate of Trenton High School, served our country in both WWII and Korea in the U. S. Marine Corps. Paul also worked for Armco Steel as a Maintenance Forman for 30 years until he retired in 1975, he then worked for First National Bank for 10 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #218, Elks Lodge #257, and VFW Post #3809. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, was instrumental in forming Middletown Knothole Baseball, and was an avid UK Wildcat fan.
Paul Is survived by his wife of 54 years, Agnes (Tipton) Finney; two daughters, Cindy Finney of Franklin and Deborah Fillnow of Kettering; a brother, Fred (Phyllis) Finney of Middletown; two sisters, Norma Medley and Betty Townsend both of Middletown; five grandchildren, Carissa Smith, Courtney and Bradley Fillnow, Todd Rowe, and Rochelle Christianson; and three, great-grandchildren, Jacob and Shelby Rowe, and Caleb Christianson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rebecca Rowe; and a brother, Ralph Finney.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc., 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita. with Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 218.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Willow Knoll Retirement Community, C/O Paul Finney, 4400 Vannest Ave, Middletown, Oh. 45042.
