Paul Lacy, 73, of Middletown, departed this life after a courageous battle with cancer on October 16, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Cannel City, Kentucky on February 15, 1934 to parents Henry and Volla (Smith) Lacy.
Mr. Lacy worked at Armco Steel for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Middletown Eagles Aerie #528 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #501.
Mr. Lacy's passions in life were his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to play cards, walk to the pier in Florida, visit with family and friends and collect pennies. To some he was known as "The Copper Man".
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wilma Jean (Bailey) Lacy. Jean was his rock during this devastating battle. Her strength never wavered. Their love was an inspiration to their children.
He is also survived by two sons: Jeffrey P. (Mary) Lacy of Middletown, Delaware and Courtney D. Lacy of West Chester; two brothers: Harold (Ida Smith) Lacy and Gene (Pat) Lacy, both of Dayton; two brothers-in-law, Nelson (Susan) Bailey and Wilson (Blanche) Bailey; sister-in-law, Linda (Gary) Wells; three grandchildren, Zachary P., Elise H. and Mallory G. Lacy and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Mitchell, Russell & Sam Lacy.
Funeral Services will be held at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Friday, at 10:00 AM with Reverend Rick Woodward officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
