Paul Robert Deger

Paul Robert Deger, 81, formerly of Middletown, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born in Middletown, on May 9, 1925 to parents Clarence F. and Rosa J. (Zeier) Deger.

Mr. Deger attended St. John Elementary school, graduated from Middletown High School, and attended the University of Cincinnati. He worked as a purchasing manager for Sulzer Eicher Wyss, formerly Manchester Machine, where he was a company representative to the Pulp & Paper Machinery Manufacturing Association. Paul was very active in the community, having served as a past member of the Butler County Republican Central Executive Committee and was elected Republican Chairman of the Third Ward in Middletown, past member of the Executive Committee Mound Builders Council of the Boy Scouts of America, past board member of Middletown Junior Achievement, past chairman of several Chamber of Commerce committees and the Safety Council of Middletown, and had been active at Bishop Fenwick High School, as well as numerous other committees.

Mr. Deger is survived by two daughters, Deborah Landon of Largo, FL and Diane Deger of Boerne, TX; one son, David R. (Bonnie) Deger of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mayola Sauers of Middletown, Christine Christian of Scottsdale, AZ, and Rita Hill of Columbus; a brother, James (Barbara) Deger of Middletown; grandsons, Michael Deger and Alex Bangert; granddaughter, Sarah Deger; and step grandchildren, Denise, Molly, & Tommy Murta.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Deger; second wife Phyllis Booth Deger; his parents; brother, Clarence Deger; and sister, Josephine Deger.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, with Father Chuck Mentrup officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
