Pearl D. Hunter, 92, of Gratis Township, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at McCullough & Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was born in Franklin on June 23, 1922 to parents Taylor C. and Flora (Egelston) Dennis.
Pearl graduated from Franklin High School in 1940. She worked for 5 years in the Warren County Auditor's office, taught ceramics for many years, then worked at Miami University Oxford for 23 years before retiring. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron (1975) of Prosser Chapter #367 Order of Eastern Star, member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #13 and the Order of the Amaranth #34 and she served as organist for all of those organizations, as well as the Edgewood Baptist Church in Trenton. She had served as Mother Advisor for the Middletown Assembly #68 Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was also a member of ALA in Miamisburg and was a Kentucky Colonel. Her hobbies included golf, sewing, bowling and NASCAR.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by her son, Ron (Shirley) Hunter; daughter, Judy (Gary) Ditmyer; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Mabel (John) Kinder of Monroe, Betty Kehrle of Miamisburg & Wilma (Bob) Green of Camden; and many nieces, nephews & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Fred Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm with Eastern Star services conducted by Prosser Chapter #367 at 12:45 pm. Interment will be at Springboro Cemetery.
