Perry Wallace, 84, of Middletown, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. He was born in Dover, Tennessee on June 14, 1919 to parents Mel and Kate (Taylor) Wallace.
Mr. Wallace worked for General Motors in Dayton for 30 years and also worked as a part-time bus driver for Ortman-Stewart Bus Company and the Middletown City Bus system. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Perry was a member of Eagles Aerie # 528 and the Loyal Order of Moose #501.
Perry is survived by four sons, Perry (Linda) Wallace, Jr. of Middletown, OH, Ron (Ellen) Wallace of Jacksonville, FL, Jack (Nancy) Wallace of San Clemente, CA, and Bob (Ginny) Wallace of Franklin, OH; one daughter, Carol (Skip) Salome of Newark, OH; a sister, Maneva Williams of Middletown, OH; eight grandchildren, Todd Salome, Kelli Diaz, Cathey Salome, Tammy Frye, Bobbie Wallace, Perry Wallace III, Rachel Wallace, and Joni Lynn Wallace; four great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and personal friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cordell Wallace in June 2000; and his parents.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 15, 2004 at 12:00 Noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Greg Wallace officiating. Visitation will be Monday, prior to the service, from 10-12 Noon at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
