James “Phil” Mattocks, 60, of Middletown, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Cincinnati on February 15, 1950.
Phil worked as a crane operator for Armco Steel Corp / AK Steel for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Mattocks is survived by his wife, Beth (Edgington) Mattocks; two children, Dan Mattocks & Emily (Scott) Barnhizer; mother, Almeda Mattocks; brother, Robert (Angie) Mattocks; sister, Pamela Lawson and three grandchildren, Caleb, Kylie & Kelsee Barnhizer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard and sister, Cheryl Johnson.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Randall Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Grace Memorial Garden.
