Ralph “Junior” Barker, 74, of Middletown, died Friday, February 2, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Middletown, on November 27, 1932 to parents Clyde and Irene (Beagle) Barker.
Mr. Barker was owner & operator of Ralph Barker Painting Company for over 50 years, retiring in 1997. He was a musician, playing guitar. Junior was a very strong Christian man and his music touched many in the Middletown area. The Mayor proclaimed December 17, 2006 to be Ralph “Junior” Barker Day in Middletown.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Bobbie (Luttrell) Barker; a daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) Horn of Trinity, FL; three sisters, Dorothy (Vernon) Francis of Middletown, Chris Centers of Middletown, and Betty (Nelson) Borchers of Tipp City; brother, Larry Barker of Middletown; grandchildren, Erin Marie (Bryan) Leonard and Tory (Lisa) Morton.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Dean Barker; parents; and brothers, Gene, Everett, Donald, Wayne, & Harold Barker.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), with Pastor Ed Cloninger officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
