Ray Joy, Jr., 83, of Middletown, died Wednesday August 2, 2006, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown, on December 5, 1922 to parents Ray and Lillian (Jones) Joy Sr.
Ray was a World War II veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving in the South Pacific. He worked as an electrician, having retired from Armco Steel Corporation and McGraw Construction, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Ray is survived by his brother, Charles (Ruth) Joy; his lifelong friend, T.D. Ulrich; and several cousins, nieces, & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joy in Feb 2006; and his parents.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
