Raymond K. Arnold, 86, of Franklin, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Dearborn County Hospital in Indiana. He was born in Sutton, West Virginia on January 24, 1922 to parents Raymond and Catherine (Herwick) Arnold.
Raymond worked as a rigger for Armco Steel Corp., retiring in 1981 after 35 years. He served his country in the United States Army in the 32nd Division Infantry during World War II, serving under General Forrest E. Harding in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his two sons, Peter K. (Jane) Arnold and Paul K. (Judy) Arnold; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Winglewich) Arnold; his parents; a brother, James Arnold; and a sister, Clare Ann Barrett.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Woodside Cemetery Chapel, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown, with Chaplain Jesse Thornton officiating. Inurnment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
