Raymond L. Gray, 83, of Middletown, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born in Middletown, on July 24, 1920 to parents Clifford F. and Bessie Mae (Jackson) Gray.
Raymond worked as a tool & die maker for Aeronca, retiring in 1973. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, where he earned an American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, and an Army Commendation Ribbon. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218 for 52 years.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Schneidler) Gray of Middletown; one sister, Phyllis of AL; one brother, David (Joann) Gray of Middletown; brother-in-law, George A. (Doris Jean) Schneidler of Middletown; nephew, Robert A. (Allison) Schneidler of Franklin, OH; niece, Cindy (Alan) Burley of Trenton, OH; great niece, Amanda Burley; and great nephews, Adam Burley, Andrew Schneidler, and Evan Schneidler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, John Schneidler; brothers, Harold, Richard, Charles, Ralph, Robert & Donald; and sisters, Ruth, Anna Mae, & Jean.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 11, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastor Glenn Martin officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military services conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
