Raymond Phillips

Raymond Phillips, 84, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Arlington Pointe in Middletown. He was born in Neon, Kentucky on March 31, 1939 to parents, Johnnie and Opal (Kempling) Phillips.

Ray worked as a lithographer for Jefferson Smurfit for over 30 years. He was a member of High Point Masonic Lodge #773 in Monroe. Ray was an avid sports fan, especially UK and also enjoyed old western movies.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris E. (Cantrell) Phillips; daughters, Kimberly Borders, Angela (Joey) Gay & Lainie (James) Saurbeck; brothers, Jesse (Gail) Phillips & Larry (Christine) Phillips; grandchildren, Tyler Borders, Matthew Borders, John (Susan) Borders, Travis (Kami) Gay, Casey (Dustin) Zarecky, Kenny (Brittany) Glenn, Raegan Saurbeck & Rylie Saurbeck; numerous great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Borders; granddaughter, Sarah Borders; sister and brother-in-law, Norma & John Holcomb. 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
