Raymond S. Palmer, 82, of Middletown, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on November 28, 1932 to parents Raymond and Leah May (Slone) Palmer.
Raymond served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Armco Steel in 1992 after 40 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus #1610, John Paul II Council 1610, Middletown, OH and American Legion Post 218. He was a founding member of the Middletown Pacemakers.
Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Ellis) Palmer; sons, Mike (Deborah) Palmer, Steve (Samantha) Palmer; grandchildren, Doug (Jessica) Palmer, Maria (Steve) Vetter, Greg Palmer, Andrew (Heather) Palmer, Nic Palmer; great grandchildren, Makenzie Palmer, and Penelope Palmer.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11:30 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, OH 45042.
