Regina Maxine Vandervoort, 89, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Cincinnati, on May 15, 1919 to parents Rodney and Norma (Painter) Gross.
Mrs. Vandervoort was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading, puzzles, gardening and family. She taught Sunday School and volunteered for the Head Start Program and the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Vandervoort is survived by her daughters, Joanne McDonald, Linda (Steve) Lutz, Carol Vandervoort, and Sandy (Benny) Barrow; brothers, David Gross, Carrol (Shirley) Gross, and Darrel Gross; sister, Wilma Willis; special brother & sister-in-law, Charles & Evelyn McHenry; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Paul 'Duck' Vandervoort in 1988; and her parents.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 2709 McGee Ave., Middletown, with Reverend Dr. Nancy Turner Jones officiating. The family will have private inurnment.
