Rene G. Olivier Jr.

Olivier, Jr., Rene G.  Rene G. Olivier, Jr., 85, of Middletown, entered his eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.  He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 22, 1932 to parents Rene G. Sr. and Linnie Mae (Numer) Olivier. 

Rene graduated from Humes High School in 1951 and then earned his Bachelor's Degree from Bob Jones University.  He continued his education with graduate studies in Pastoral Ministries.  After being called to preach in his junior year of high school, his life's goal was to share the Biblical message of Salvation through belief and trust in Jesus Christ.  He served eight churches across Maryland, served as recording secretary for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, was President of the Pastors Conference of BCM/D, Associational Moderator and Interim Director of Missions.  After his own health problems began, he took CE courses to become a volunteer hospital chaplain.  He served the counties where he pastored as a member and chairman of the County Social Services Board.   

Mr. Olivier is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances (Mason) Olivier; sons, Rene Edward Olivier, John (Kathi) Olivier & Richard (Toni) Olivier; seven granddaughters, Katelyn, Kamryn, Katrina, Malorie, Samantha, Holly & Mandi; sister, Barbara Vincent; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra J. Olivier; brother, Richard Olivier; and grandson, Will Olivier. 

The family gives their sincerest thanks to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties for their loving and compassionate care.   

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at University Baptist Church, 4125 Riverview Ave., Middletown with Pastor Glenn LaRue officiating.
