Rev. Robert Clark, 80, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Canandaigua, New York on April 19, 1928 to parents Ernest and Hilda (Haefele) Clark.
Reverend Clark served as assistant pastor at Seventh Church in Cincinnati and then Hoge Memorial Church in Columbus. He went on to serve as pastor for Reynoldsburg Presbyterian near Columbus, St. Luke Presbyterian in Middletown, and Fairgrove Presbyterian in Michigan. He then retired and was Stated Supply Pastor at Collinsville Presbyterian and Blue Ball Presbyterian. He had served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Rotary.
Reverend Clark is survived by his wife, Dolores (Barkalow) Clark; son, Duane (Veronica) Clark; daughter, Becky Saunders; two granddaughters, Christina (Jon Bednarek) McConnaughey and Eva Rutkowski; sister-in-law, Sandy Clark; and brothers-in-law, Mark (Dorothy) Barkalow and Paul Gehres.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Clark; and sister-in-law, Miriam Gehres.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Luke United Presbyterian Church, 280 N. Breiel Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Janet Dillaman and Reverend Kevin Lawler officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
