Richard A. Wilmer, 95, of Sycamore Township, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Brookdale Place of Kenwood. He was born in Middletown on August 20, 1917 to parents Gustav W.A. and Lorine (Eikenberry) Wilmer.
Richard was a graduate of Middletown High School, Cornell University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He served his country as a Captain in the United States Army. He was an Ohio State Senator, member of the Butler County Bar Association, honorary life member of the Ohio State Bar Association and a fellow of the American Bar Association. Also he was a longtime member of the Middletown Rotary Club and the American Legion Post 218.
Mr. Wilmer is survived by his daughters, Allyson (Lawrence) Jacobs & Adair (Russell) Kornman and grandchildren, Emily Jacobs, Katherine Jacobs, Hayley Kornman, Logan Kornman & McKenna Kornman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Llewellyn Wilmer in 2006; parents; and brother, John A. Wilmer.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Funeral Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Evercare Hospice & Palliative Care, 9050 Centre Pointe Drive, Suite 400, West Chester, Ohio 45069 –OR- the charity of donor's choice.
