Richard Brandenburg, 75 of Trenton, died on Friday, July 23, 2004 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middletown on August 26, 1928 to Charles & Olive (Baisden) Brandenburg.
Mr. Brandenburg was an architect and was a partner at Brandenburg & Switzer Architects for 25 years, having designed several buildings at Miami University, in the Middletown area he designed, banks, savings and loans, Verity School, Middletown Regional Hospital and early work at Cedar Point. He had worked for the City of Middletown doing plan review for the building department, he also taught continuing education classes for the building trades, and had a home inspection service. He was an avid bowler and basketball fan, and was a past member of the Optimist Club and had been very active with the Soap Box Derby at Jacot Park.
Richard is survived by his wife Cecilia L. Brandenburg, Trenton, two sons; David Brandenburg, Granville, Oh and Robert A. Brandenburg, Middletown; three daughters; Claudia Brandenburg (Dean) Kotchka, Cincinnati, Susan B. (Bill) Tinsley, Middletown, and Tracy A. (Burak Kacaz) Brandenburg, Miami, Fl.; two brothers, Gerald (Marty) Brandenburg, Italy and Darrell (Mary Sue) Brandenburg, Middletown, one sister Charlene Brandenburg ( Elmer) Profitt, Campton, Ky.; six grandchildren Stephen Cloud, Katie Kotchka, Joanne Cloud, Michelle Brandenburg, Brian Brandenburg, and Kenny Jinkens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Arnita Frongia, and his best friend Sasha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 10:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, Trenton, Father George Klein, celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (At Bonita Dr.). Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Gift Processing Center P.O. Box 96268, Washington, D.C. 20090-6268.
