Richard Edward Cooke

Richard Edward "Edd" Cooke, 64, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 31, 1957 to parents, Roger & Ruth (Howard) Cooke, who preceded him in death.

Edd had worked for various companies in the industrial field in shipping and receiving. Edd was a true family man. He was a caring son and brother, a dedicated husband of 44 years and a loving father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his world. Edd was an avid fisherman, a craftsman, and a lover of country music and guitar picking. He enjoyed his retirement browsing the flea markets in search of rare finds and deals to add to his collection of woodworking and walking sticks, spending most every summer day with his large group of close friends at Kings Island, and strumming away on his old collection of guitars. Edd had a heart of gold. He always wore a smile and never knew a stranger. He was loved by so many and will be forever thought of and missed by all who knew him. Edd is in heaven with Jesus now playing songs for his mom and dad. “And sometimes if you’re lonely, remember he can see, cause there’s holes in the floor of heaven and he’s watching over you and me.”

Edd is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dawn (Risner) Cooke; children, Vanessa (Michael) Hilligas, Eddie (Tiffany) Cooke, Amber (Gehad) Elzeini, Christina (Adam) Whitt, Daniel (Nicole) Cooke & David Cooke; brother, Roger (Debbie) Cooke Jr.; sisters, Renee (Steve) Cocanour & Becky (Tim) Watkins; fourteen grandchildren, Marissa Booth, Savanna Booth-Cooke, Jaxson Hilligas, Emilynn, Elissa, Eden, Eva & Everleigh Cooke, Lily, Nora & Owen Whitt, Chloe Cooke, Maddie & Kyleigh Cooke; and many other loving family & friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Chad Slifer officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
