Richard Zarker Bergmann

Richard Zarker Bergmann, 41, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018.  He was born in Houston, Texas on October 12, 1976 and grew up in Somerville, Ohio.  Other places he has lived include New Era, Michigan, Pinehurst & Fayetteville, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and West Alexandria, Ohio, where he passed.

Ric graduated from Edgewood High School in Trenton, where he played varsity baseball & soccer.  As a goalkeeper he earned All Conference & All Region honors.  He attended one year of college at Cumberland College in Kentucky.  Later he earned an Associate degree in business at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  He spent almost 20 years working in the hotel business and was working at a Holiday Inn in Dayton when he passed.  He had a passion throughout his life for sports, especially the Michigan Wolverines & New York Jets football teams, and he loved his cats Garfield & Marvin.

Ric is survived by his parents, Charles & Martha Bergmann; brother, James (Jackie) Bergmann; uncles, Randal Bergmann, Louis Napoli & David Zarker; aunts, Carol Napoli, Alice Bergmann & Mary Zarker; cousins, Chrissy, Eric & Ryan Napoli & Charles, Will & Ellyse Bergmann; nephews, Kamil & Ilian Napoli & Thomas & Benjamin Fitch; and nieces, Margaret & Evelyn Fitch & Lina Napoli. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles & Evelyn Bergmann & Charles & Jane Zarker.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Edgewood High School Athletic Fund, 3045 Busenbark Rd., Trenton, Ohio 45067.
