Rita M. Haker, 84, of Middletown, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on June 26, 1921 to Stephen J. and Elsie (Henkel) Schramm.
Rita was a graduate of University of Dayton and worked as a bookkeeper for Consolidated Office Supply. She served as a WAVE in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a dedicated member of Holy Family Parish-St. John´s Church and participated in many church activities. She enjoyed the many card clubs and the fellowship of friends at those clubs.
Rita is survived by four sons, Stephen A. (Vickie) Haker of Monroe, Joseph Michael (Jennifer) Haker of Middletown, Paul R. (Marj) Haker of Trenton, and Mark V. Haker of Columbus; four grandchildren, Holly Haker, Michael Haker, Stephanie Haker, and Joey Haker; two brothers, Joseph (Babs) Schramm of Myrtle Beach, SC and Richard (Helen) Schramm of Daytona Beach, FL; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Haker in 1973; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
