Robert A. (Bob) Nunlist passed away October 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gertrude; his daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Palmer Nunlist; and his sister, Helen Beiser. He was born in Middletown in 1915 to Robert and Christina Nunlist and lived there most of his life. He is survived by sons Thomas (Julie), Richard and Timothy (Bonnie)
Mr. Nunlist received his BA degree from the University of Cincinnati and his MBA from Xavier University. His career at ARMCO spanned more than 40 years and during that time he rose through the ranks from a clerk in the mail room to the Treasurer of Armco Steel. In 1978, he was one of the first inductees into the Xavier University Williams College of Business Alumni Hall of Fame. He was a Director of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce and served on the boards of Barnitz Bank and Citizens Savings. He co-authored the book Industrial and Consumer Credit Management and was a past president of the Cincinnati Association of Credit Management. Mr. Nunlist was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Traveling with Gertrude, working in the yard and dining out with friends were the things he enjoyed most.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
