Robert C. “Bob” Hedrick, 82, of Middletown, died Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Ohio Veteran´s Home. He was born in Montgomery, Indiana on March 3, 1924 to parents Charles Millard and Lillian Faye (Allen) Hedrick.
Mr. Hedrick worked for the Dayton Daily News, then worked as a circulation director for the Middletown Journal, from which he retired in 1984. Following his retirement, he worked for the Springboro Press for 4 years. He was past president of the Ohio Circulation Managers Association, where he also served as chaplain. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 218 and the VFW #3809 . Bob was a charter member of University Baptist Church and was an ordained Deacon of the Baptist Church. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Middletown. Bob enjoyed dancing and taught ballroom dancing for the Middletown High School Community Education Program.
Mr. Hedrick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorelle (Burton) Hedrick; three daughters, Joan (Perry) Reynolds of Centerville, Sharon (Tom) Rottinghaus of Madeira, and Robbie (Ray) Thomas of Mason; his mother, Lillian Hedrick of Xenia; and six grandchildren, Perry (Maria) Reynolds, Robert Reynolds, Joe (Trena) Thomas, Laura Thomas, Devon Rottinghaus, and Mai Rottinghaus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Hedrick; brother, Kenneth Ray Hedrick; and sister, Jean Warren.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), with Reverend Kenneth Fey officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at David´s Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
