Robert Draut

Robert E. "Drauty" Draut, 73, of Middletown and Lakeview, Ohio died Friday, November 15, 2013, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on August 8, 1940 to parents Robert E. Sr. and Dorothy (Long) Draut.

Bob worked at Armco Steel Corp for 30 years, most recently in the machine shop before retiring in 1996. A veteran of the United States Army, Bob was committed to serving his community. He was a member of the Butler County Mental Health Board, the Middletown Sportman's Club and was a proud and active volunteer with the Dream Factory.

Mr. Draut is survived by his children, John Draut, Julie (Jerry) Pickett, Tamara (Stuart Fink) Draut & Benjamin Draut; brothers, Tom "Dutch" (Janet) Draut, Jack Draut & William Draut; sister, Gail (Ray) White; grandchildren, Max, Audrey & Alex Pickett, Noah & Emma Draut & Harper Draut-Fink; and former wife, Sally Colvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Dorothy Draut.

Bob will be remembered as a loving parent, grandparent and brother. He became a talented photographer over the years and was rarely seen without his 35-mm camera and video recorder. His family will forever remember his sense of humor and his love for his children and grand-children.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the caring staff of Atrium Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
