Robert E. Brown

Robert E. Brown, 89, of Middletown, died Monday, December 21, 2009, at Kensington Place. He was born in Middletown on May 15, 1920 to parents Robert L. and Ida Lee (Wells) Brown.

Bob worked for the US Government in defense contracts for 45 years, retiring in 1984. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, in the European Theatre and Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 218, VFW #3809 and DAV #131.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Catherine L. (Edwards) Brown; sister, Ruth (A.B.) Hurt; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Fuller, Nancy (Cary) Fenton, Jean (Don) Stamper and Sue Edwards; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Virginia Gray and Carolyn Brown.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Dean Penrod officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
