Robert E. Burns, 67, of Middletown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at Kensington Place. He was born in Dayton, Oh. on August 19, 1935 to Chalmer E. and Wilma R. (Stocker) Burns. He graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton and later attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.
Robert Began working for Armco in 1957, and retired from Buildings Technologies in 1992 as a Senior Draftsman after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Dayton Motorcycle Club, the Heartland Ohio Vintage Thunderbird Club, and founding member of the Armco Car Enthusiasts Club (A.C.E.). Robert will be fondly remembered for his love of travel, vintage cars, and motorcycles.
He is survived by a son, Robert L. Burns of Maineville, Oh.; a daughter, Valerie A. (Dan) Russell of Monroe; and four grandchildren, Brett Russell, Brittani Russell, Braedan Russell, and Nathaniel Pulley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann R. Burns, in June of 2002; a daughter, Roberta Eugenie Burns; a sister, Rebecca S. Holley; and many loving Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita, with Father John Civille officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 3, 2003 at the funeral home from 5-8p.m.
