Robert E. Hardin, 76, of Middletown, formerly of Aurora, Ohio and Clyde, Kansas, died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at University Hospital. He was born in Clyde, Kansas on November 19, 1928 to parents Ralph and Florence (Funk) Hardin.
Robert graduated from Clyde High School in 1946 and went on to graduate from Kansas University. He served his country in the United States Air Force and received the “We Point With Pride” award for saving an airplane. He was passionate about farming, was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and received a lifetime pin from the United Methodist Men´s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Muriel (Hawkinson) Hardin of Middletown; two daughters, Janet (Steve) Conner of Sterling, CO and Karen (Ron) Price of Liberty Township, OH; one son, Bob (Pam) Hardin of Pickerington, OH; one sister, Shirley Holder of Independence, MO; one brother, Gary Hardin of Canton, TX; and nine grandchildren, Megan (Dave), Traci, Craig, Joe (Kayla), Amee (Bill), Ryan, Rob, Michael, and Elizabeth.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), with Reverend Bradford G. Olson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Clyde, Kansas.
