Robert E. "Bob" Laubach, 86, of Madison Township, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at Ohio Veteran's Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He was born in Franklin on January 17, 1927 to parents James and Sarah (Priest) Laubach.
Bob worked as an electrician for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the United States Army & Merchant Marines and member of Jefferson Lodge #90 F. & A.M. Bob was the first Fire Chief for Madison Township and was a former Madison Township Trustee.
Mr. Laubach is survived by his wife, Bette (Upton) Laubach; three sons, Bobby (Margaret) Laubach, Jamie Laubach & Kris (Lois) Laubach; sister, Jeanne Wood; daughter-in-law, Janice Laubach; seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Laubach; and daughter-in-law, Carla Laubach.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Maurice Dunn officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 8284 Keister Rd., Middletown, Ohio 45042.
