Robert F. Roberts, 88, of Middletown, died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on July 17, 1915 to parents Fred and Irene (Reynolds) Roberts.
Mr. Roberts worked for Armco Steel Corporation as a supervisor of special services in the Metal Products Division, Building Sales. He was a State of Ohio registered architect, past chairman of the Metal Building Manufacturers Insurance Committee, and past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the City of Middletown Zoning Board of Appeals, on which he was past chairman. He was also a member of AISI and MBMA Building Codes.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elinor Jane (Pippert) Roberts; a son, J. Steven (Donna) Roberts of Palm Harbor, FL; five grandchildren, Miriam Roberts, Christian (Katie) Roberts, Meagan Roberts, Courtney Roberts, and Scott Roberts; one great grandson, Charles Roberts; one sister, Frances Miller of Middletown, OH; a sister-in-law, Geneva Roberts of St. Michaels, MD; two daughters-in-law, Dordie Roberts of Marco Island, FL, and Kathy Roberts Jones of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles F. and Robert Michael Roberts; his parents; and a brother, Harry Eugene Roberts
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastors Alvin Lee and Rachel Lee officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
