Robert G. "Bob" Jett, 71, of Trenton, died Thursday, September 17, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Jackson, Kentucky on May 17, 1938 to parents Clarence and Edith (Angel) Jett.
Bob worked as a scale operator for Jefferson Smurfit for 36 years, retiring in 2003. He loved to grill & cook-out for his family and gardening and he enjoyed fishing & hunting. He was a member of the Orioles Nest #193. Bob was proud of being born in Kentucky and was a true blue UK fan.
Mr. Jett is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Allen) Jett; son, Clarence Lee (Lisa) Jett; brother, Eddie (Betty) Jett; uncle, Ray (Betty) Jett; five grandchildren, Brittany Jett, Ashley Jett, Staci Jett, Matthew Hunt and Brandon Jett; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Jett, Leland Jett, Jimmy Jett and Richard Jett; and sister, Ethel Jett.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice Care of Middletown and Dr. Kudalkar and Dr. Krebs.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Bill Wilson and Reverend Sammy Reed officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
