Robert G. “Bob” Puthoff, 92, of Middletown, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his home. He was born in Middletown on June 26, 1925 to parents Chester and Frances (Nieman) Puthoff.
Bob worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1988 after more than 30 years of service. He served his country as a Merchant Marine during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Letter Carriers Union.
Mr. Puthoff is survived by his children, Robert (Cynthia) Puthoff, John (Crystal) Puthoff, Diane (Jeffery) Huntsbarger & Joseph (Jennifer) Puthoff; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allison, Anna, Iris, Claire, George, Jordan & Lincoln; and many loving nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion L. Puthoff in 2013; parents; and sisters, Marie Barclay & Betty Dineen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Hamilton DAV Chapter #15 Honor Guard.
