Robert J. Zuehlke

Robert J. Zuehlke, 73, of Middletown, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born in Middletown on March 29, 1939 to parents Earl Robert and Virginia Mary (Kreitzer) Zuehlke.

Bob worked as a traffic engineer for the City of Middletown for 33 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the International Municipal Signal Association where he was a past officer for the State of Ohio and an instructor. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. He had worked for NASCAR and was a member of the Sports Car Club of America. He loved scuba diving and was a member of Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Bob had his Masters degree and was working on his PhD at University of Cincinnati before he became ill. He taught engineering courses at Wright State University and was a professor at Thomas Moore College, University of Dayton and University of Cincinnati.

Mr. Zuehlke is survived by his loving friend, Margot V. Hall; brothers, Allan J. (Pauline) Zuehlke & John E Zuehlke; step children, David (Lesa) Alsobrook, Sydney (Heather) Alsobrook & Vanesa (Donald) McCall; granddaughters, Julia J. McCall, Sarah (Michael) Current, Amanda (Keith) Higgins & Jessica McCall; dear friend, Emily Butler; and many more close friends & family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
