Robert M. Muthert, 84, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at his residence surrounded by his wife and children who loved and praised him very much. He was born in Middletown, on February 14, 1920 to William Sr. and Bertha (Holden) Muthert.
Mr. Muthert attended Holy Trinity School and was a member of Holy Family Parish. He served his country in the Marine Corps during World War II as a corporal. He was an umpire for the Little League Knothole for over 10 years and enjoyed being with children. He was employed as an engineer for Armco Steel Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1982.
Robert was a member of V.F.W. Post #3809 and served as Judge Advocate, was a member of the DAV, American Legion, and Eagles. He enjoyed spending his time watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, his grand dogs, cooking, drawing all his holiday cards for the family, and also working in his garden.
On September 1, 1951, he was united in holy matrimony to Theresa Scorti and they remained married until his death. They have 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of almost 53 years of marriage, Theresa (Scorti) Muthert; his daughters, Gail (husband Paul) Corrill of Middletown, and Connie (husband Gerry) Sandker of Franklin; his sons, David (wife Susan) Muthert of Franklin, and Gary (wife Kellie) Muthert of Cincinnati; two granddaughters, Angela Corrill of Moscow, ID, and Emily Muthert of Cincinnati, OH; a grandson, Dominic ; and great granddaughter, Kyla of Cincinnati; He is also survived by his older brother, William Jr. (wife Kathleen) who he loved very much and enjoyed spending every day with him. Left also to mourn his loss are brothers-in-law, Paul (wife Joanne) Scorti, Pat Scorti, and Michael (wife Betty Sue) Scorti; sisters-in-law, Mary Wellinghoff, Angelina Scorti, Frances (husband Phillip) Jones; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, friends (especially Dago) and also 5 grand dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Urban Muthert; special cousin, Genevieve Hughes; half-sisters, Edith, Mary Ellen, & Mildred; brother-in-law, Eugene Scorti; and sister-in-law, Anna Scorti Derrough.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care that Dr. Barrord, Dr. Malcolm, and Dr. Murdock and their staff provided during their time of need.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 2, 2004 at 1:30 PM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the Mass, from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
