Robert T. "Bob" Brandenburg, 83, of Middletown, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on February 8, 1921 to parents Daniel S. and Jane (Taylor) Brandenburg.
Bob served in the United States Army, 12th Army Division, 43rd Tank Battalion during World War II. He was wounded in Germany on April 8, 1944, and received a purple heart. He was a 1940 graduate of Lee County High School. The majority of his work life was as a salesman. He owned a construction company for 10 years, and retired from Montgomery Ward. After retiring, he worked for Williams Auto Sales and Central Auto Sales for 5 years. Bob was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 45 years and was a 4 year volunteer for Hospice of Middletown.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Judy (Jeff) Wilbers of Middletown, OH; three granddaughters, Amy (Keith) Wicker and Heather (Jim) Zaremski, both of Trenton, and Nicole Jackson of Middletown, OH; 8 great grandchildren; and his special friend, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his wife Noleeka “Jeri” Brandenburg on Febuary 20, 1998; a son, Robert D. Brandenburg; his parents; and an infant brother and infant sister.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Howard Sears officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
