Robert Turner, Jr., 76, of Middletown, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on October 7, 1929 to parents Robert and Polly (Turner) Turner.
Mr. Turner worked as a brick mason for Armco Steel Corporation, retiring after 32 years. He did volunteer brick-work for various organizations and businesses in the area. He served his country in the United States Army and the Air Force. Robert was a member of Grace Baptist Church for over 40 years, was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling and camping.
Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Roberts; three daughters, Cheryl (Dennis) Baker of Mt. Victory, Robin Duff of Middletown, and Carrie (Greg) Madden of Lawerence, KS; two sons, Rodney L. (Patricia) Turner of Franklin, and Tim (Chris) Turner of Middletown; sisters, Maureen (Houston) Rodgers of West Carrollton and Mary (George) Heinkel of Camden; brothers, Clyde (Wilma) Turner of Middletown and Charles (Linda) Turner of Springhill, TN; twelve grandchildren, Heather (Denny) Mason, Jamie Maloney, Haley Baker, Eric Turner, Stephanie Patrick, Lori (Joel) Reffner, Ashley Turner, Kaitlin Turner, Whitney Duff, Allison Turner, Atticus Madden, and Annora Madden; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn Mason, Madelyn Mason, and Bricen Maloney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Naomi Turner and Maude Dunaway; and brothers, Frank Turner and Pleas Turner.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 3023 N. Union Rd., Middletown with Rev. Dr. Howard Sears officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 – 3 pm at the church. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Garden.
