Rocky L. Irwin, 51, of Franklin Township, died on May 27, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on November 7, 1951 to parents Charles and Fannie (Hughes) Irwin.
Rocky was a graduate of Monroe High School, where he played football and other sports. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany in 1972. He worked as an expeditor for Armco Steel Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He was an avid University of Cincinnati Bearcats fan and loved children and animals.
Rocky is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie (Martin) Irwin of Franklin Township; his son, Rocky L. Irwin II of Franklin Township; mother, Fannie (Hughes) Irwin of Middletown; one sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Donnie Lykins of Franklin; mother-in-law, Erna Martin of Middletown; and nephew and his wife Rob and Tammy Lykins of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Irwin; his father-in-law, Ralph Martin; and a niece, Kristy Robinson.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jeff Zollett and staff and to Debbie’s co-workers at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Home.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 30, 2003 at 1:30 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Charles Denny officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
