Rodney “Grog” Begley, 51, of Middletown, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at Dayton Veteran’s Hospital. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on September 17, 1952.
Mr. Begley worked as a lancer for International Mill Service and McGraw for 19 years, retiring in 1999. Before his retirement, he was a member of Local Labor Union #534. Rodney served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3458 and the High Fly-N Van Club.
Rodney is survived by a son, Rodney Shane (Michelle) Begley of Germany, who is currently serving in Iraq; a sister, Patricia (James) Limerick of Middletown, OH; a brother; Andrew Sargent of Middletown, OH; his mother, Beulah (Earl) Sargent of Somerville, OH; his father, Bill Begley of Hazard, KY; two grandchilden, Nicolette Joanne and Shane Michael Begley; four special nieces, Tonya (fiance Sam Hart) Combs of Miamisburg, OH, Tina (Brian) Blevins of Germantown, OH, Tammy Limerick of Middletown, OH, and Melissa Sargent of Middletown, OH; four great nieces, Sumer Combs, Taylor Blevins, Lacianna Blevins and, Kaydence Sargent. He is also survived by a very special friend, Tarri McDonald, as well as many, many other friends.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Rodney Williams officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors.
