Roger Mattingly, 77, of Madison Township, died Friday, August 15, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Middletown on July 28, 1937 to parents Robert and Breelie (Lindon) Mattingly.
Roger worked in electrical construction for Armco / AK Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed playing softball and was inducted into the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame in 1994.
Mr. Mattingly is survived by his wife, Judi (Lickert) Mattingly; 5 stepchildren & their families; and sisters, Margie Taylor & Tootie Lampl.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorine Mattingly; parents; brothers, Raymond Mattingly & Robert "Ralph" Mattingly; and sisters, Lillian Combs, Margaret Peck & Maxine McLean.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice Care of Middletown and to the Visiting Angels for their care & comfort.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Joseph's Legacy Animal Rescue, 4513 Hannah Dr., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
