Russell A. Bost

Russell A. Bost, 92, of Middletown, Ohio, died on March 24, 2003, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born in Elkville, Illinois on August 9, 1910 to parents Daniel and Mary Josephine (Reinheimer) Bost. Russell served his country in the United States Navy.

Mr. Bost graduated from West Frankfort, Illinois, High School. On June 15, 1935, he married Edith M. Dickey in Swanwick, Illinois.

Mr. Bost joined the Missouri Highway Patrol in 1944, in Kirkwood, Missouri, and was transferred later that year to Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where he spent the remainder of his career, retiring as Chief Communications Engineer in 1974. While in Poplar Bluff, Mr. Bost was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons. In 1975, Mr. & Mrs. Bost moved to Middletown. He was a member of Breiel Blvd. First Church of God. An avid ham radio enthusiast throughout his adult life, Mr. Bost was a member of Dial Radio Club in Middletown.

Russell was preceded in death by his wife Edith on October 31, 1990; his parents; a brother, Daniel Bost; and a sister, June Bost.

He is survived by one son: Charles R. (Betty) Bost of Monroe, OH; two grandsons, Charles R. (Susan) Bost, II of Monroe, and James P. (Tiffani Meadows) Bost of Columbus, OH; great granddaughter, Natalie Catherine Bost of Monroe, OH; sister-in-law, Alene Bost of Bloomington, IN; niece, Mary Jo (Jack) Lukey of Bloomington, IN; and nephew, William D. (Joan) Broughton of St. Louis, MO.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Breiel Blvd. First Church Of God, 2000 N. Breiel Blvd, Middletown, with Reverend David Colp officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2003 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
