Russell D. Muncie, 79, of Middletown, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on February 20, 1930 to parents Bruce and Susie (Cox) Muncie.
Mr. Muncie was a founding member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. He served his country in the United States Army retiring as a Sergeant Major and then worked for BD Morgan.
Mr. Muncie is survived by his son, Stephen D. Muncie; brothers, Woodford Muncie, Jerry Muncie; sisters, Ethel Turner, Betty Ann Walsh and grandson, Patrick J. Muncie; granddaughter, Emily K. Muncie.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wilma Jean Davis Muncie; son, Bruce Monroe Muncie; brother, Ova Muncie; sister, Rose Fugate; brother, Edgel Muncie; brother, Chester Muncie; sister, Opal Goodpaster; brother, Winfred Muncie.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 225 N. Main St., Springboro with the Rev. Joseph Redmond, the Rev. Jason Leo and the Rev. Marguerite Denton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
