Russell J. Claus Sr.

Russell J. Claus, Sr., 76, of Middletown, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Dayton V.A. Hospital. He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on February 7, 1931 to parents George and Pauline (Kassek) Claus.

Mr. Claus worked for General Electric for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Russell is survived by four children, Russell(Patricia) Ruehl, Deborah (Kenneth) Durstock, Russell (Cindi) Claus, and Kandice (Mike) Smith; a sister, Vicki Myers; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers & sisters.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Neal McKinney officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
