Ruth E Howland, 88, of Monroe, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her daughter's home. She was born in Miltonville, Ohio on May 25, 1924 to parents John and Nettie (Randall) Dietz.
Ruth worked as a secretary with Middletown City Schools for 36 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Amanda United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Amanda U.M.C. Women's group.
Mrs. Howland is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Roy) Vaughn & Becky (Phil) Scheidt; four grandchildren, Heather (Tandyn) Lippert, Jon (Nicole) Slone, Chris Scheidt & Drew (Laura) Scheidt; and nine great grandchildren, Xander & Makayla Lippert, Benjamin & Kiley Slone and Jonathan, Brian, Jason, Alexia & Kayla Scheidt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendle W. Howland in 1996; parents; and siblings, Luther Dietz, Laura Treadway, Elnora Brewer, Alfred Dietz, Elmer Dietz, Wanda Fisher & Gerald Dietz.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Marti Pepitone officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
