Ruth I. Rau

Ruth I Rau, 85, of Middletown, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Winegar, Wisconsin on April 10, 1926 to parents George and Pearl (Moore) Gunderson.

Ruth graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1944. She worked as a secretary for Aeronca Inc. and Diamond Fiber Board. She was a member of Prosser Chapter #367 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Mrs. Rau is survived by her husband of 61 years, Fred Rau; sons, William Edward (Deborah) Rau & John Robert (Lee Ann) Rau; daughter-in-law, Brenda Rau; sisters, Kathrine (Jim) Hollenbeck, Shirley (Kenneth) Bracken, Marilyn Frith & Carolyn (Jack) Thomas; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick C. Rau; parents; sister, Julia Hocz; & brothers, Ed Gunderson & Colonel Lindy Gunderson.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the physicians & staff of Atrium Medical Center and the staff at The Inn at Renaissance Village.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Luke United Presbyterian Church, 280 N. Breiel Blvd., Middletown with Dr. Reginald Olson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
