Samuel Willis Jackson, 92, of Middletown, made his journey to Heaven on December 14, 2015, at Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky on May 25, 1923 to parents Russell and Maggie May (Farmer) Jackson.
Sam worked as a Barber for 52 years, retiring in 2000. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M., which merged with Jefferson Lodge #90. He served the Amanda Junior High Booster Club as president and served on the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department. Sam was Grand Marshall of the Middletown Memorial Day Parade in 2013.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Ray) Kelly & Diane (Roy) Bechtel; four grandchildren, Cristopher (Ashley) Kelly, Lisa (Joe) Slone, Julie (Andy) Schwartz & Nathan (Katie) Bechtel; ten great grandchildren, Logan & Cody Frazier, Kylee, Avary & Camden Slone, Hudson, Thatcher & Whitman Schwartz & Jackson & Connor Bechtel, and awaiting number 11 in February; also survived by his sister-in-law, Viva Byrd.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Ann (Hall) Jackson; parents; three brothers; one sister; as well as half-brothers & half-sisters.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Chaplain Scott Mishler officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm with Masonic Services at 12:30 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
