Sarah Welshofer

Sarah "Sally" Welshofer, 78, of Middletown, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. She was born in Middletown on May 4, 1934 to parents Arthur and Helen (Hall) Boxwell.

Sally graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught a combined 20 years at John XXIII, Middletown City Schools and Bishop Fenwick High School, retiring in 1998 and was a swim coach at Middletown High School. Sally was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Holy Trinity Choir, National Science Teachers Association, Ohio High School Athletic Association, Butler County Retired Teachers Association, Phi Kappa Phi, Wildwood Golf Club and Middletown Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Welshofer is survived by her five children, Lee A. (Linda) Welshofer, Lisa A. (Joseph) Sauers, Lewis E. (Barbara) Welshofer Jr., John A. (Jane) Welshofer & Gretchen M. Welshofer; and ten grandchildren, Leigh (James) Driscoll, Ross Welshofer, Lynn (Kevin) Fussner, Michael Sauers, Matthew Welshofer, Nicholas Welshofer, McKenzie Welshofer, Erin Welshofer, Garrett Welshofer & Elsa Welshofer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. Welshofer in 2000; parents; sister, Mary Ann Arnold & brother, Richard Boxwell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
