Shelley C. Barnes

Shelley C. Barnes, 54, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on January 1, 1951 to parents Vernon Everett and Nancy (Hamilton) Morriss.

Shelley was a graduate of American University in California. She worked for 28 years as a Surgical Technician and also as a Surgeon’s Assistant at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was Co-owner of L&S Sports, and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 330 in Trenton.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband, whom she married on May 2, 1971, Larry Barnes; her mother Nancy Morriss of Hannibal Missouri; a brother John Bradley Morriss of Tempe, Arizona; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Vernon Everett Morriss.

The family would like to give special thanks to the surgical staff at Middletown Regional Hospital, and the staff at the offices of both Dr. Cobb, and Dr. Malcolm.

A memorial service is planned for Shelley in the fall of 2005.
